Terms and Conditions

Effective date: Monday, September 27th, 2026

By creating an account or using LAYT, you agree to these Terms, our Privacy Policy and our Cookie and Data Collection Policy. These Terms are an agreement between you and LAYT DISCOVERY - FZCO, licence no. 93323, Building A1, Dubai Digital Park, Dubai Silicon Oasis, Dubai, United Arab Emirates ("we", "us"), for the LAYT app and layt.com (together, "LAYT"). If you don't agree, please don't use LAYT.

1. Who can use LAYT

• You must be at least 15. Users aged 15 to 17 use LAYT in teen mode, and a parent or guardian must review and agree to these Terms for them.
• You must be at least 18 to earn commission as a creator.
• Your information, including your date of birth, must be accurate and kept up to date.
• You can't use LAYT if we have banned you before or if the law doesn't allow it.
• If you use LAYT for a business, you confirm you're authorised to accept these Terms for it.

2. Your account

Keep your login details secure and don't let anyone else use your account. You're responsible for what happens on it. Tell us at support@layt.com if you think someone else has accessed it.

3. How LAYT works

• LAYT helps you discover fashion through creators' posts and shop the products featured in them.
• We don't sell products. A product link takes you to the retailer's own website, and your purchase is a contract between you and that retailer under its terms and privacy policy. Prices, stock, delivery, returns and refunds are the retailer's responsibility.
• Affiliate links. Many product links are affiliate links. LAYT may earn a commission from the retailer when you buy, and part of it may go to the creator whose post you came from. This doesn't change the price you pay.
• Product details such as names, images and prices come from retailers' websites and can change. The retailer's website is the final word.

4. Your content

• You own your content. The posts, photos, videos, captions, comments and messages you create stay yours.
• The licence you give us. You grant LAYT a non-exclusive, royalty-free, worldwide licence to use your content to operate, provide and improve LAYT. This lets us:
  • host, store, copy, display and distribute it on LAYT;
  • adapt its format, for example by resizing, compressing, cropping, captioning or translating it;
  • analyse it to rank, recommend and moderate content;
  • let other users view and share it through LAYT's features.
• Who else gets these rights. We may extend them only to service providers who help us run LAYT.
• When the licence ends. It ends when you delete the content or your account. The exceptions are copies other users have shared or used through LAYT's features, backup copies (removed within 35 days), and anything we must keep by law or for a legal claim.
• Your promises. You own, or have permission to use, everything in your content, including music, images, logos and designs. Anyone who appears in it has agreed to be shown, and your content follows these Terms and the law.

5. Content rules

You must not post, send or share anything that:

• is illegal in the UAE or where you are, or helps someone break the law;
• offends religion or public morals, or promotes hatred or discrimination;
• is sexually explicit or graphically violent, or promotes self-harm, drugs, weapons or gambling;
• harasses, bullies, threatens or impersonates anyone;
• shares someone's personal information or images without their consent;
• infringes copyright, trademarks or other rights, or promotes counterfeit goods;
• is false or misleading, including fake reviews, undisclosed ads or misleading product claims;
• is spam, or tries to fake views, likes, followers or clicks.

You also must not scrape LAYT with automated tools, reverse engineer it, interfere with its security, create fake accounts, or use it for unsolicited advertising.

Moderation. We may remove content, or restrict or close accounts, that break these rules, using automated tools and human review. You can report content or accounts in the app or at support@layt.com. When we act on your content or account, we'll tell you why where we can, and you can ask us to review the decision.

6. Creators

• Label promotion. If you're paid, gifted or otherwise rewarded for a post, including through affiliate commission, make that clear in the post.
• Permits. You're responsible for holding any permit or licence the law requires for your content, including the UAE advertiser permit for promotional content. We may ask for your permit number before paying you, and pause payouts until you provide it.
• Earnings. Creators aged 18 and over may earn a share of the commission LAYT receives on eligible purchases made through their product links. The share, payout schedule and any minimum payout are shown in [WHERE CREATORS SEE EARNINGS TERMS] before you start earning.
• Payouts. We pay through third-party payment providers, currently Stripe, which may require you to accept its terms and verify your identity. Payout methods depend on your country, and we'll tell you whether payouts are available where you live before you start earning.
• Adjustments. Commission is final only once the retailer or affiliate network confirms it. We don't pay commission on cancelled, returned or refunded purchases, or on clicks we reasonably believe are fraudulent or automated, and we may recover amounts paid in error.
• Taxes. You're responsible for any taxes on your earnings.
• Independence. These Terms don't make you our employee, agent or partner.

7. Aïsha

Aïsha is an AI stylist for fashion and style help only. Its answers are generated by AI, may be wrong and aren't professional advice, so don't rely on them for medical, financial, legal or other decisions. Only upload photos you have the right to use, and don't upload photos of other people without their permission.

8. Messages

Messages between users must follow these Terms. We may review messages when they're reported to us, or when needed to keep people safe or comply with the law.

9. LAYT's intellectual property

LAYT's name, logo, design, software and the content we create belong to us or our licensors. We give you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable right to use LAYT as intended under these Terms. If you send us feedback or ideas, we may use them freely without paying you.

10. Copyright and trademark complaints

If you believe something on LAYT infringes your rights, email support@layt.com with:

• your name and contact details;
• the work or trademark you own;
• a link to the content;
• a statement that you believe in good faith the use isn't authorised and that your notice is accurate.

We'll review it, may remove the content, and will let the person who posted it respond. We close the accounts of repeat infringers where appropriate.

11. Other services

LAYT links to and works with services we don't control, such as retailers' websites, affiliate networks, Sign in with Google and Stripe. Their own terms and privacy policies apply when you use them.

If you downloaded LAYT from the Apple App Store or Google Play, these Terms are between you and LAYT, not Apple or Google. The app store's own terms also apply to your download.

12. Ending your use of LAYT

• You can delete your account at any time in Settings. You'll have 30 days to restore it, and then it's permanently deleted as described in our Privacy Policy.
• We may suspend or close your account, or remove content, if you seriously or repeatedly break these Terms, if the law requires it, or to protect users, LAYT or the public. Where we can, we'll tell you why and give you a chance to respond or appeal.
• Some terms continue after your account closes, including creator payment adjustments, liability and disputes.

13. Our responsibility to you

• We provide LAYT with reasonable care and skill, but we can't promise it will always be available or error-free. We may change or stop features, and we'll give notice of significant changes where we can.
• We aren't responsible for products you buy from retailers, for other websites and services, or for content other users post.
• To the extent the law allows, we aren't liable for indirect or consequential losses, or for lost profits, business or data.
• Nothing in these Terms limits your rights under UAE consumer protection law, or any liability the law doesn't allow us to limit.

14. If you break these Terms

If your breach of these Terms or the law leads to a claim against LAYT, you're responsible for the resulting losses, to the extent the law allows.

15. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms, for example when we add features or the law changes. We'll give you reasonable advance notice of significant changes in the app or by email. If you don't agree, you can delete your account before they take effect, and changes never apply to disputes that arose before them.

16. Law and disputes

• These Terms are governed by the laws of the United Arab Emirates as applied in the Emirate of Dubai.
• If you have a complaint, please contact us first at support@layt.com so we can try to resolve it.
• You and LAYT agree that the Courts of the Dubai International Financial Centre (DIFC Courts), including the DIFC Small Claims Tribunal where eligible, have exclusive jurisdiction over any dispute arising out of or in connection with these Terms or LAYT.
• This doesn't affect any right you have under UAE law to complain to a consumer protection authority or other regulator.

17. General

• These Terms are available in English and Arabic. If the two versions differ, the English version prevails to the extent the law allows.
• If any part of these Terms is found invalid, the rest still applies.
• If we don't enforce a right straight away, we don't lose it.
• You can't transfer your rights under these Terms. We may transfer ours as part of a merger, acquisition or sale of our business, and we'll tell you if we do.
• These Terms and the policies they refer to are the whole agreement between you and LAYT about LAYT.

Cookie and Data Collection Policy

Effective date: Monday, September 27th, 2026

LAYT uses no advertising cookies, analytics tools, tracking pixels or advertising identifiers, only the storage it needs to work. This policy explains what LAYT stores on your device and what it collects automatically. Our Privacy Policy explains how we use and protect that information.

1. No tracking

We don't use advertising or analytics cookies, tracking pixels such as the Meta or TikTok pixel, or your device's advertising identifier. Because we only use storage that LAYT needs to work, we don't ask for cookie consent. If we ever add optional cookies or analytics, we'll update this policy and ask for your consent first.

2. What we store on your device

On layt.com (browser storage)

• Sign-in tokens: keep you logged in. Removed when you sign out.
• Aïsha conversation reference: reopens your current Aïsha chat.
• Recent searches: your last 10 searches, so you can repeat them. They stay in your browser until you clear them, even if you delete your account.
• Navigation state: returns you to your search results. Cleared when you close the tab.

In the mobile app

• Sign-in tokens: keep you logged in. Removed when you sign out or uninstall the app.
• Aïsha conversation reference: reopens your current Aïsha chat.

3. What we collect automatically

• Request data: our hosting providers, Amazon Web Services and, for layt.com, Vercel, receive your IP address, device or browser type, the page requested and the referring page, to deliver LAYT and keep it secure.
• Viewing activity: posts you view and how long you watch them, kept in detail for up to 45 days.
• Product link clicks: the post, creator, retailer, link, time, browser type, referring page, a hashed IP address and a check for automated clicks. These aren't linked to your account.
• Error and performance logs: used to fix problems and kept for up to 30 days. They don't contain your name, email or messages.

4. Device permissions

The mobile app asks for access only when you use a feature that needs it:

• Camera and microphone: to record video posts.
• Photo library: to choose photos or videos to post, or to share with Aïsha.

You can change these permissions at any time in your device settings. LAYT doesn't access your location, contacts or advertising identifier.

5. When you leave LAYT

• Product links: a product link takes you through an affiliate network to the retailer's website. They may use their own cookies to record that you came from LAYT and credit the sale, under their own cookie and privacy policies.
• Product images: some product images load directly from retailers' servers, which lets those retailers see your IP address and browser details.
• Social links: links to Instagram, TikTok, YouTube or WhatsApp open those services, whose own policies apply.

6. Your choices

• Sign out to remove sign-in tokens from your device.
• Clear your browser storage to remove recent searches and other stored items.
• Block or delete stored data in your browser settings. If you block essential storage, you won't be able to stay signed in.
• Change the app's permissions in your phone's settings.
